Members of the Greenburgh Street Crime Unit and Drug and Alcohol Task Force completed an investigation this week that led to the arrest of Xiaonu Jin, 54, who was charged with unauthorized practice of a profession while operating Forest Yin Spa on Central Park Avenue.

Late last year, a judge ruled that Forest Yin Spa could reopen its doors on Jan. 9 after being shut down as part of an undercover operation into “unauthorized practice of a profession.” Its license was revoked last month to operate in town, though Jin had been fighting the claims in court.

According to the Greenburgh Police Department, Jin “knowingly and unlawfully purported herself as a licensed massage therapist without having the requisite state license.”

Following arraignment, Jin was released on $100 bail. Forest Yin Spa was closed by the Town of Greenburgh Building Department, and she is due back in court later this year to answer the charge. The future of the spa is unclear.
